Days of Gray
It is a world without language. A world where one is raised to respect the rules and all must wear masks when venturing from home. Only one boy (Davíð Laufdal Arnarsson) questions the verity of what he has been taught. He scavenges for lost objects from distant times, he shares warmth with his younger Sister (Viktoría Rós Antonsdóttir), and he dares to befriend an outsider - the Girl (Diljá Valsdóttir).
Shot in Iceland, Days of Gray is a silent film with an original musical score by Hjaltalin, a seven-piece orchestral Icelandic band. Called "an assured debut that should attract attention on the fest circuit and connect with musical tastemakers" by the Hollywood Reporter, Days of Gray has screened at film festivals worldwide, winning Best Emerging Narrative at the 2014 Oaxaca Film Festival. It has been screened as a special ciné-concert with Hjaltalin performing the score live. The soundtrack was nominated for Best Score at the Icelandic Film Awards and won Best Album at the Icelandic Music Awards.
